Today, I found out my mom recently stopped taking her medication. I came home to find she'd shot my dog because she thought he was possessed by the devil. FML

Today, my mom was in a really bad mood, so I stayed in my room to avoid her. It didn't take long before she barged in and started bitching about my dog, who'd pissed her off by acting too happy. Yes, she's actually that insane, and I have to deal with it on a daily basis. FML

Today, I was awoken by a conversation my mom was having with my dog upstairs. She was telling my dog that a ghost lives in our house. She was completely serious. The ghost even has a name and a backstory. FML

Today, while I took my dog out, my mother began to cook, took a Xanax, locked the doors, and passed out. When I managed to get in, I called the paramedics because she was in the smoke for at least an hour. When she became conscious, she blamed me for everything. FML

Try to get her hospitalized, OP. She's clearly a danger to others. It could have easily been a person she thought was possessed. If the gun is in your house, then get it out. Guns and mental illness just don't mix. Even if they are locked up. I'm sorry about your dog and about your mom. Mental illness is a horrible thing.

Why is a gun not locked up when there's a mentally unstable person in the house. If there all hers call the cops or a friend to have them removed. Friend first.
