How about ham? Pork chops? And, well, sounds like you either recently developed the allergy, ate bacon so rarely that you didn't know it made you sick, or were aware of this and you didn't care because its so damn good. Either way, though, I'm so sorry!

As you are in the US i suggest finding yourself some Morningstar vegetarian bacon rashers - i still dream about their fabulous taste (we can't get them in the UK anymore because of GM ingredients or something)
