I got 8 teeth removed once but it didn't swell. good luck
I had my wisdom teeth (only four) taken out on Christmas Eve; so sadly, I know how you feel.
ya buddy u must be from eastern Canada if u say to boot .. Newfoundland nb or ns ???
I know how you feel!! I got mine out just before Christmas too!:o not 8 though just 4 haha
What a wuss. We live in the day and age of anaesthetic, so everyone, please stop bitching about your wisdom teeth. No one cares.
And clearly, you haven't had yours out, nor have you had any surgery of any kind. Otherwise, you would know that once the anesthetic wears off, (yes, dear, it does wear off) there will be pain, discomfort, and soreness.
Wow, you're a moron. I haven't had my wisdom teeth out but I have had root canal surgery. You've obviously never had any sort of significant dental work done. For starters, if you have a local anaesthetic, it wears off eventually. And your mouth still hurts like hell. Secondly, if you go under a general anaesthetic, as the OP will to get 8 wizzies removed, it will also wear off, you will wake up, and despite however much ibuprofen you take, it will still hurt. Procedures like root canal and wisdom tooth surgery inflict significant trauma upon the gum and surrounding mouth, and it's not something that heals in the few hours that your anaesthetic lasts for. After my root canal I took 2 ibuprofen and 2 paracetamol and still had pain shooting through the area around my tooth. I shudder to think what you'd feel like after getting wisdom teeth removed. Fortunately for me, I only have 2 wisdom teeth (as far as the dentist can tell) and they have both erupted without any problems, so as far as we can tell, I'll never need to get my wisdom teeth removed, for which I am eternally grateful.
that's actually pretty common (the wisdom teeth growing sideways).
The pain actually isn't that bad, it goes away after a few days, good luck!
don't worry it's really not as bad as everyone says it is, and I bet they are going to give you some great pills ;)
Having your wisdom teeth out really isnt too bad.

Sorry, OP! That's an unfortunate anomaly. :(
