Today, I found out that whenever my ex-wife is late getting the kids to school, she tells them to tell their teachers they were with me, and forges my name on the sign-in sheet. Missing homework? Dad's house. Forgot to bring something important? Ditto. The school thinks I'm a horrible parent. FML

What she doesn't realize is that in a school with only 180 students, it's impossible to get away with stuff like that. The principal knows what's up, because we dealt with similar issues last year; I just didn't think I was going to have to schedule meetings with the teachers again about it (outside of the regular parent-teacher conferences, which she attends). I *had* kind of noticed the teachers giving me the stink-eye in the car line lately though.

Tell the school your ex-wife is a discount *****. It won't help your standing any, but the constant calls from the male faculty will be good revenge.

Thanks for all of your kind words and... inventive... suggestions. I've basically decided I'm giving her "enough rope to hang herself" as the old saying goes. I figure eventually she'll get bored or complacent or lazy or drunk and do something I can call the Sheriff about, and I doubt her boyfriend would let it get too out of hand. (Is it weird that I like my replacement better than I like my ex?)

Not weird at all. He saved you from putting up with her crazy ass longer than you needed to, and gave you an easy out. I kinda pity him though. Your ex-wife sounds like she's not playing with a full deck.

Her forging your signature is cause enough for the sheriff. Thats totally illegal. Kids get expelled from school for forging their parents signature, so why cant she get in trouble for it?

You need full custody. She's dishonest...not a good look for a mother or anyone really. There's no telling what other trickery she could be telling those kids to do.

I am sure that forging a signature could be a criminal offence. You should probably remind her of that.

In ten years he will have grown (or almost grown) children whose minds will have been warped by the actions their mother makes. This needs to be stopped so these kids don't think they can just pin their own faults and shortcomings on someone else. Best of luck to you, OP!

They have to learn pointing fingers in accusatory way. Thry msy as well learn it from their mom. At least, thst is ehat majority of people learn to fo. Granted, her actions are despicable. At the same tome for this gent to know the truth is much more important then what othets think. He had made a mystake of marrying her, but that cannot be unmade.

That's a good idea. OP should also try to prove that his ex-wife is forging his signature. I really don't think he should have to tolerate her behavior, and their kids shouldn't have to either.
