Today, I gave my mother a pre-prepared deposit envelope with my fortnightly wage in it, in cash. I tell her exactly where the deposit box is and what to do. I'm now desperately calling the bank because my mother accidentely put my $1200 deposit in the little trash can for receipts under the ATM. FML

you are calling her a "dumbass" but your refer to a big sum of money as "shit"..... whats with all these people saying YDI just because she didn't not perform this task herself. there could be so many reasons for this. there have been many days when i gave my mum a big sum to deposit because it was on the way for her and i was doing a 19 hour shift.

Maybe $1,200 is the remainder after paying bills, buying groceries, etc... can't always assume that we're financially better off just because we can afford to spend time commenting on other people's misfortunes.

uh she could also be a uni student? I earn around that much a fortnight (yes we say fortnight in Australia) which is around 17/hour whilst studying full time. So its pretty unfair to assume she is unskilled and failed school - for all you know, she could be better educated than you.
