Hey, I worked for vector for an entire summer, and I made fantastic money ($6-8000)! yes, you have to work, but they are upfront that you are selling things, and the products are fantastic; my parents have had lots of community members come up and tell them to thank me for introducing them to cutco. It's not a job to take if you don't want to work, but working 30-40 hours/week, I had a blast and made great money!
Ouch. I'm sure there's a number of things you can do to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else and maybe attain restitution. There's always the BBB or the police.
Jesus ****, crasher, calm the **** down! Not everyone here is some OMG VECTAR SALES REPREZENTATIV!!!!111! And if there actually are people out there paid to read FML's on the offchance that someone may complain about their company, then damn, do I need that job! But seriously, I interviewed for Vector and ended up turning them down simply because I drive a ridiculous gas guzzler, so all the driving prob would have been way too costly. But I know someone from HS who made shit-tons there (and yes, I actually know-know her, as in we talk on the phone and go out together, so it's not like just more ridiculous VECTAR SALES REPREZENTATIV LIES), and also know someone who currently works there and is doing well enough. So sure, for all I know every other person who has ever worked there ever has crashed and burned and never sold a single knife, but the couple people I know are actually likeable, talkative and outgoing, so they do quite well. ALSO: so crasher, if you're still tempted to call me a DEVAL WORSSHIPING VECTAR SALES REP, how about you check my profile and see the other comments I've posted here, k?
HA! Cutco claimed a victim right here a few years back. No worries, though. Sell the knives on eBay!
I worked for Cutco two years ago. I made $2500 in a two week period: $800 one week and $1700 the next. Yes, I worked 14 hours a day for 14 days straight but I sold over $10,000 worth and it paid off! It was a great job to have right out of high school and right before college, and if you WORK HARD...or work at all...you can and will do well! Go to the conventions, listen to your office manager and try! I promise it's not a scam. The only thing that really sucks is taxes the next year: I will admit they are a pain in the ass! Other than that, the deposit for your sample set is totally worth it. No scam, you just need to work for it dear.
"I worked 14 hours a day for 14 days straight but I sold over $10,000 worth and it paid off!" Your realize not everyone can do this.... right?
Stop lying. This is 100% bullshit. CUTCO hides behind their Vector name with fake promises of high hourly wages and steals money from students. You will NOT MAKE ANY MONEY doing this. Dont get fooled by THE MAN. "The man kidnapped Shamoo and stuck him in a chlorine Tank! Oh Miss Mullens? SHES THE MAN!"
idiot
Well firsthand i can say i worked for vector for about a good two months, made back my kitmoney plus an extra few hundred but in the end it is a scam. you have to set up your own appointments which is bullshit and when you run out of people youre out of luck. and i have to say ive been trying for a good month and a half to offically quit and give back my kit but my manager refuses to talk to me and let me turn it in. i finally had someone who i knew who worked in the office turn it in. im still waiting for my refund for the kit. if it doesnt come within a week there will be hell cause im sick of this company and everything it stands for. The managers act so successful and guady with everything, displaying bonus checks for $100,00 and everything around their offices. It only looks like a good thing, people see money and want to make it thats the only reason why they are looped into staying for the unpaid training and paying for a kit, cause they want that $100,000 bonus check, which they will never see. they take advantage of peoples good nature and keep you working by promoting you to things such as an assistant manager, branch and district and so on. but in the end youre only being promoted because they dont want you to leave. and once your promoted you bascially have to come into the office whenever youre called in for extra help. its rediculous and absurd. Oh and also, they make it seem like its so competitive to land a job with them, Bullshit. everyone gets the job, they just want to make you feel special.
