Today, I got a job selling knives. I had training for 11 hours. At the end of the training session, the instructor promptly informed everyone that they had to pay $145 for a set of demo knives. I paid the $145. I went home and learned that it was a scam. I went back for a refund. They said no. FML

hey regina, the girl who left this story, it says ur from new jersey...did u work in nj? and if so, who was ur regional manager?

LIES FROM A VECTOR PUBLIC RELATIONS POSER!!! PAYING MONEY FOR A JOB = SCAM!!!

Maybe, your new articulate speech should have bled over into your typing because you sound like a moron

Crasher, while I admire your vehemence against this company whom I also had the misfortune to work for (after I found out I had to buy my knives, I called it quits), perhaps, you could tone it down a bit? The all caps almost makes you seem like that guy on the street corner shouting into his bullhorn. I'm glad you have taken it into your hands to try and make sure that everyone who reads these comments knows that Vector is a scam, but you're not helping our side when the supporters call the detractors paranoid or delusional. Like tabernac, you could tear down all the posters you see or warn everyone you know against it. Just some options I think would work better. Good luck!

I just ran some diagnostics too. It tells me that you've responded to half the people pro-Vector and told them imaginary stories. Then you claimed it was all one person doing it.... Like what you did except they weren't assholes.

If you haven't used the knives then you don't know that there is nothing special about the knives. One they are made in America so it helps our economy unlike Henkels which is German and Chicago Cutlery isn't even made in the US it's made in Asia now. They have a completely unique handle which is super comfortable and very durable. Cutco is the only knife with the Double-D edge, and you have the forever warranty. You have your vision of the company all mixed up. It's not an easy job and if you don't work hard at it, then you will not do well. If you work really hard at it then they you can make so much money but you can't be a lazy ass and do good. Maybe it's good that you didn't take the job because all these people bashing Vector are probably too lazy to do the work. WOODEN HANDLES.

I've used the knives and they are AVERAGE AT BEST. Definitely not worth the money you pay for them or even close to the quality of a premium set. Waste of money....who the hell needs such a crazy knife set anyway?

I'm curious to know how you can get the IP address of posters without being an admin at FML.

I fully admit the over-the-top-ness of so many posts. I simply fear people reading these ludicrous comments and taking them at face value. I apologize for the nuisance but if I can save one person from getting scammed then it was worth it.

im going to work for Vector, my older sister did it and made bank. so its not a scam

I have worked there too many summers ago. It's not a scam. Believe it or not, it gives you an excellant work ethic and teaches you many lessons, plus they are also great American-made products. But if you're a born quitter than there's not else we can do for you. Much like life, you get back what you put into it.

Either you are a lier or your older sister was. You can't make money doing this......thats why they force you to buy the knives.....they make money off forcing the people they hire to buy knives not off customers! They prey on people who can't stick up for themselves and bully them into sales. DONT BE SCAMMED!! TELL THESE ASSHOLES TO **** OFF IF THEY APPROACH OR CALL YOU!!

BULLSHIT!! Who do you think you are fooling poser? You people prey on vulnurable desperate college students with fake promises!! Then you make them go through DAYS of unpaid training before telling them they have to BUY KNIVES before they can even work for you!?? THIS IS A HUGE SCAM!! YOU'D HAVE TO BE AN IDIOT TO FALL FOR THIS!! (Sadly many still do)

It's only a scam if you are such a lazy ass that you don't want to do the work yourself but if you work really hard, you can make bank and many do, but it's not easy plus vector was written about in The Wall Street Journal. Look it up. If it was a scam, I'm pretty sure The Wall Street Journal wouldn't write about them and say what a good company it is.

It's not about work ethic its about deception. When you are tricked into unpaid training hours and forced to buy products with unrealistic promises it's a SCAM. Vector does all of these!

They've never promoted by the wall street journal, stop making up LIES. Vector was featured on dateline as one of the nations top 10 scams.

By law, they have to give you a complete refund if it has not been 30 days since you bought it, you have not altered it in any way, or damaged it. The only way they can refuse is if you signed a contract or they stated no returns when you bought it.

It's not a scam - it's just a crummy job. The product is worth the $ they make you pay and if you didn't pay for it they'd be providing unreliable college students with $300 worth of merchandise to walk away with... so they aren't scamming you - you're just easily discouraged and need to grow up.

My Boyfriend worked for Vector for the summer of 2008. By Mid August he called the office, and the phones were diconnected and his managers cell phone numbers were all changed. They ****** over all the employees, and my boyfriend's paycheck for $500 never came. Dicks.

Shit, no refund? I woulda just taken their own product and shoved it up their asses. Literally.

damn these guys, Vector is awesome. I started back in Dec 2007 and worked my way up to be a Branch Manager for the summer of 2009 and i go to school Full time. It is not a scam. It is mentioned in the interview and training that you gotta pay for the knives. You pay for anything to get started. Whether it be to get your bartending license to be a bartender, tools and stuff for constructions, clothes/shoes/apron for waitressing, chairs/clippers for barbers and the list goes on and on. You guys are just really immature. I've seen the success first hand and the people who have complained. The people who complain because they dont believe in it. That's really the bottom line.
