Today, I got a new computer because my old one crashed, deleting all music, photos, and documents. I still had all my music on my iPod though, and went to sync it to the new computer. By accident, my younger brother pulled the cord out before it was done, deleting all 3,000 songs forever. FML

invest in an external hard drive for backing your stuff up.

Hopefully you learned your lesson and bought an external hard drive for backups. YDI.

Can't you just redownload iTunes and download your account's library onto your new computer?

Aww that sucks.Sorry 2 hear that :(

Your music is still there, your library file is damaged. Get your file browser to show hidden files. Your music is in all of the folders labeled f[#] (f01, f02, etc)

"over 9000" is a popular internet meme. learn it. That said, I have close to 72 GB/11,600 songs on my computer.

Yikes. I feel your pain, my music is my life. For the future, get an external hard drive. Best $100 bucks I've ever spent. (Although that $100 got me a 500GB hard drive and someone on here claims to have gotten a full terabyte for $100...if this is true, I need to step my technology game up.)
