Today, I got an email from my University informing me that I was invited to an exclusive dinner for 25 people. As I continued to read through the email, I discovered that I wasn't lucky or special, but that the dinner was for financially unstable students. They think I'm a charity case. FML

Today, I was invited to a special meal for receiving a scholarship from my college. My mom refuses to take me because “your sister’s going there too and didn’t get a scholarship; it wouldn’t be fair to her.” I guess fairness doesn’t apply to me. FML

Today, I learned that, even after several interviews and congratulations for getting the job, you still might not get the job. I just received an email stating that my accepted offer is now rejected. I already treated my close friends to an expensive dinner to celebrate. FML

Today, I attended my school's special invitation-only awards ceremony, relieved that I was getting a much-needed scholarship. I watched all my friends go up and win scholarships. In the end, I only got a certificate for doing well on the PSAT. My whole family showed up for this. FML

Today, I went to a fancy charity dinner. I'm a schmoozer, so I decided to introduce myself to someone important. I asked enthusiastically, "So, how are you involved with all of this madness?" He frowned at me. I then remembered that this particular charity assists people with mental issues. FML

Today, I found out that I was denied for work study eligibility by my college. I went to my financial advisor to ask why. It wasn't my grades or attendance. Apparently my father makes too much money for me to get a job at the school. My dad was fired 3 months ago and has been out of work since. FML

Today, I found out I didn't get accepted into a program I was nominated to attend at work that all other applicants with less experience than myself did. I found out when they asked if I had gotten the acceptance email. They didn't even bother telling me I was rejected. FML

wow...YDI. you came off as a real snob in this. obviously based on whatever financial aid or information they have on you, they wanted to help you out, make sure you are taken care of. hell, i need financial aid, but i haven't recieved any. if i were given the chance, i'd go. why the hell not? a good free dinner, chance to meet and hang out with people?

I wanna be picked up on a stretch short bus! =D Just because I think it would be the coolest thing ever. Although I also kind of want to hijack one of the John Deere thingys that the custodians drive around my campus (not tractors, but they're made by john deere. kind of like go-carts?). =)

I can tell you're from OCAD. The rest of the us, "other people", got the same email, too. So it's nothing worth complaining about because you get to talk to the president and tell her how much it sucks and maybe something beneficial will come out of it.

Gee, you're not lucky or special at all. You just got chosen above HUNDREDS OF OTHER FINANCIALLY UNSTABLE STUDENTS (who you seem to think are more deserving than you) for financial aid and free dinner. Being picked when you (apparently) don't need or deserve it would actually suggest that you are, in fact, either very lucky or very special.
