Today, I got into a bad car accident, where I got severe whiplash, swollen knees, and cuts everywhere. I called my boss to let him know I wouldn't be able to make it in and he fired me for being 'not dependable'. FML

Love all the people who just post "sue", as if their daddies read them nothing but John Grisham novels at bedtime. On a side note, I think the OP's boss is one of those people who click YDI no matter what the post is. I wonder if the boss time stamped the termination so that the op was technically fired before arriving at the hospital and thus no medical insurance from work. FYL, op.

You can definitely take him to court for that.

Idiot. That's not a bad car accident. Suck it up and quit complaining.

Does anyone else wonder why OP is on FML if it was a "bad accident"?

Chances are you're a poor employee, bosses don't fire their good employees and claim that you're not dependable. Good chance of underlying causes.

123, could be bad as in "the car's totaled"... Or "somebody else involved got hurt" or "multiple vehicles were involved" or.... 126, yes, all bosses are reasonable and rational that way.

sue him for wrongful termination. that's what I would do. I've got a rare disease that can cause me to miss work for one day to several days, when my boss gets mad at me bc "I'm not dependable" I always remind him he can't fire me or I'll sue.
