Today, I got screamed at by a woman at work for feeding her 3-week-old infant formula instead of the bottled Kool-Aid that she packed. FML

I really hate when mothers don't inform theirselves about feeding a child. It's common sense the baby should be on formula or breast milk for 6 months only. If it's about money, I am pretty sure WIC and other government assistances can help. Heck, breast milk is free and I didn't pay a dime on formula. The only time I used it was when I worked and I used the huge samples I got from one company for a month until I was able to save milk for her.

I wouldn't drink baby formula that old either!! If the BABY is only 3 weeks, that is waaaay too much sugar for a mostly napping baby. She wants an obese child. I've read even 100% juices have too much naturally occurring sugar, called fructose, for kids. So every bottle with x% real juice and the rest is sugars/corn syrup and water is right off the charts!!!

Ok, I'm going to play devil's advocate here, but has anyone else ever gone 3 full weeks without more than 20 minutes of sleep at a time for days on end? Maybe, just maybe, she has an older child who she was also packing lunch for and screwed up? Is anyone seriously dumb enough to pack koolaid for a newborn? Unless the damn woman never turned on a radio, tv, or Internet and had the baby w/out any dr assistance, she would know better. Maybe the mom was nursing or had special allergy type formula and was mad because nobody thought to call her and just ASSUMED she was psycho? Just my first thought here...

While it is considerate of you to try to give this crazy mother the benefit of the doubt, based on the wording of the FML, I highly doubt she got mixed up. With the wording of the FML, it seems that she specifically screamed at OP for not giving her 3 week old the Kool-Aid. It seems as if she most likely started to yell at OP upon receiving the bag she had packed for the baby. She probably noticed that the Kool-Aid that she packed was still there and then proceeded to explode on OP. If this is the case, I hope OP called CPS to save that poor child. I honestly hope she was mixed up though, because no baby deserves to be mistreated because its mother is beyond stupid.

Have you ever even been outside? Human stupidity is boundless. Also, why the **** would someone pack Kool-Aid for an older child in a baby bottle? A child young enough to still be drinking from a bottle should NOT have that much sugar.

I thought maybe it was pedialyte same dies sugars and bonus added salt as kool aid however pedialyte is only recommend for children twelve mons + unless specifically directed by doctor.. I have to have a prescription permission slip signed by doc to feed my 15 Mon old son whole milk in daycare instead of skim milk. op tell mom you need a paper signed by the doctor to feed that child whatever was in the bottle.

Somewhere in the world, someone is stepping on a Lego.

*Cues Kool-aid man bursting through the wall* "Oh Noooo!"

Did she tell you "Kool story, bro", when you tried to tell her why this is wrong?

If you work at a daycare you have a legal obligation to report her to the authorities. If you're a baby-sitter you have a moral obligation to report her to the authorities. Do the right thing. I'm a foster parent, and see a lot of neglect and abuse. This baby needs help and you are in the position to do it.
