Today, I got screamed at, threatened, cursed, and spat on by an elderly couple for "running them off the road". I was driving an ambulance, lights and sirens on, with a 4 year old in the back who couldn't breathe. They were going 20 in a 50mph zone for 2 miles straight. FML

& this is why I think the elderly should have to retake drivers Ed.

Old people driving never ceases to amaze me. I hope the child is ok.

They should get arrested... A kid's life was almost lost!!

I think it's actually against the law to do what they did

It is. Proper term is "Failure to yield to an emergency vehicle". It is actually an arrestable offense, though most of the time it is a traffic citation.

you should've yelled at them back and say "im sorry, but im trying to save a 4 year olds life. good day." and give them the little birdy.

**** those old people, their times up. U did the wrong thing though by running them off the road. And I only say that because by the fact they survived u didn't do it effectively enough.

thumbs up, good god if I was the parent of that child I'd rage, some people are so stupid.

It's illegal to not let an emergency vehicle pass. You should have done all you could to get them ticketed and had their licenses revoked.

Why did you stop for long enough to hear them?

I doubt he stopped. He probably returned to speak to them, or they followed him all the way to the hospital. There's really no way he could stop, it would endanger the kid's life even more.

I'm guessing that the handful of YDIs are all over 70 themselves.

Or a couple people clicking the wrong option.

Could you radio in and have local law enforcement pull their dumb asses over? It would have been eternal justice if the kid was their grandson; and didn't make it. (too much?)

Yes, the little kid paying for their idiocy with his/her life is totally justice in action. Or, you know, not.
