Your FML was awkwardly phrased and unpleasant to read. Therefore, YDI.
Oh man... when I first read this, it almost made me wonder if you applied to the place I work, because I can totally see something like this happening. Except the owner of my restaurant would have probably waited until he was in the office to mention it to the manager. It really sucks that this happens, but I've seen it a lot. It works in reverse, too. At the place I used to work, they seemed to hire mostly overweight women - go figure. Sorry this happened to you, though :-(
Clearly #18 has some weight issues as well? I am well aware of the equal opportunity act but you should be well aware that life is not always fair. The same idea applies for someone if they are way too thin it means they are overly worried about their appearance and can be ill and that is also someone that you do not want working for you in any environment whether it's an office, the mall, or somewhere with "heaving lifting". At least now the OP has some guidance in what she needs to change to find a job elsewhere. It doesn't matter if you're GOOD LOOKING but having a presentable appearance does effect you in getting a job whether you want to admit it or continue living in denial .
Yea, you're right she can report that to human resources and they can get into a lot of trouble for that but in all honesty, someone who goes to the gym for an hour a day, for example, is someone who is a lot better of a candidate because it shows determination and will power to force yourself to take care of your body. We don't know what the OP looks like so we can't judge on anything except from her fml which indicates that she's overweight.
Yeah, because overweight people never ever work out. *rolls eyes*
What exactly is hr going to do to the owner of the company? Give him shit and then get fired?!?!
Well, they should have had that in the job posting then.
that's so rude
#21 That's because you are white and have all the privileges you will ever need. Don't get me wrong, Affirmitave Action does have it's flaws, but it's way better to have it than not, and uneducated fools such as yourself should stfu. Also, you're 15. I would venture to guess you haven't had more than 1 job in your life, if any, and would have no idea how Affirmitave Action affects the workplace. So kindly gtfo.
hey hey now... she's a moron, but all white people aren't automatically privileged. She clearly is however
Well at least you won't have to sue him for sexual harassment later on

People can be so disrespectful. :/ As though your weight has any bearing on how well you can do the job. It sounds like the owner was just being a jackass, so you're probably better off not working there at all. And btw, we have no idea what the OP looks like. The comments about she needs to lose weight are just stupid.
What a dick. You didn't deserve that.
