Today, I had a job interview at a local business with the owner who was man, and the manager who was a woman. I thought I did pretty well because I heard the manager whisper so, as I was walking out. Then I heard the owner whisper "no fat chicks." FML

Today, I went to an important job interview, only to be told I'm not what such a "prestigious" company was looking for. This from a pimply-faced 20-something who took a personal call on speakerphone mid-interview, and actually said "LMAO" out loud at his friend's joke. FML

Today, I had a job interview. I have another job I want to leave, but haven't said anything yet. At the interview, I mentioned where I worked, and the interviewer name-dropped my manager. She then told me he was her step brother. So much for not wanting my manager to know. FML

Today, I went to the bathroom after a terrible job interview. My interviewer walked in with another guy, talking about my interview, saying he was obviously going to hire the other guy because my odd-sounding name was too hard to pronounce, yet alone spell in multiple emails. FML

Today, I walked out of a job interview feeling confident because I'd really hit it off with the interviewer. He called me an hour later to tell me that I didn't get the job, since he was afraid we'd "get along too well and never get any work done." FML

Today, I went to my first job interview. I didn't think I was doing too badly, until the interviewer said, "Wait a second, you're in high school?" I explained that the guy who'd called me had said that this wouldn't be a problem. I then watched as my interviewer left his desk to "deal" with him. FML

Today, I went for a job interview. The woman interviewing me had such a thick accent that I had to keep asking her to repeat herself. She got so frustrated that she ended the interview super early. I don't think I got the job. FML

Today, I finally got an interview at a restaurant after looking for a job for three months. I dressed nice, and the interview was going well until this blonde girl in booty shorts and fishnets walked in. The manager hired her on the spot. FML

Today, I went in to a job interview with 6 other girls my age. I tried to sit down on a chair exactly like the ones every other girl was sitting on. Then, one of the interviewers offered to get me a more "sturdy" chair. For the entire interview, I got to sit in the "fat girl chair". FML

People can be so disrespectful. :/ As though your weight has any bearing on how well you can do the job. It sounds like the owner was just being a jackass, so you're probably better off not working there at all. And btw, we have no idea what the OP looks like. The comments about she needs to lose weight are just stupid.

Hey, at least you found out sooner rather than later. You probably don't wanna work around people like that anyway. Also, whispering isn't an indication of a good job - hell, when people whisper, it means they're talking shit about you. And for the people saying you can't discriminate fat people - look at modeling, or even the Hooters restaurant chain. C'mon, you really think they're gonna hire a fat girl for these jobs? I'm not saying that fat people shouldn't have jobs, but just think about it, really.. we don't exactly know the nature of the work the OP was applying for. It could be a position for a fitness trainer, for all we know... therefore, it isn't right to automatically think the OP was being discriminated against. Some jobs just aren't available for people without the correct physical attributes.

I've had plenty of fat waitresses and fat bartenders. It never effected my willingness to tip them. In fact, they tend to be nicer around here

there IS always the possibility here that the owner was joking. maybe the OP isn't fat at all, and the manager had made some rude comment about someone being overweight earlier, and the owner was just busting the manager's balls and it really had nothing to do with whether or not you got the job. you really have no idea what the owner was really thinking, or what they meant by saying "no fat chicks".

There are alot of jobs you cant do if your fat such as working at hooters or a being a stripper or being a model so dream bigger if that be the case, and alot of other resturants like hot chicks for there waitressing staff I HIGHLY doubt you were applying for an office job of some sort
