Today, I had to convince my 3-year-old son that there were monsters in the house just so he would lie in bed and cuddle me. FML

Well.. that's kind of desperate. Scaring a kid for yourself to cuddle o.o

Way to put your own needs ahead of your boy's chance at a well-adjusted childhood. Thumbs up, OP.

oh yeah. what a great parent you are, scaring your child to get what you want.. smh

That's a horrible thing to do to a child. you shouldn't traumatize a child just for your selfish desires, even if the desire is something really sweet.

And when he can't fall asleep and you are ready for him to, just give him some Benadryl. That sort of thing seems like your style of parenting.

Eek! I accidentally thumbed down when I meant to thumb up and it won't change. Apologies!

Your life does not suck, but you do.

If your kid doesn't want to cuddle then don't force them, you can't make your kids do what you want to do

Exactly. Yet some people believe that parents should have the right to make their kids do and think whatever they want them to. Kids are people too. Not fully developed, but still, they deserve respect.

your going to regret that one. just wait until he never sleeps in his own bed

That is the stupidest, most childish and irresponsible thing I've heard of a parent doing in a while. Causing your child to be scared to give yourself self-gratification is a form of mental abuse to the child. He is three years old and susceptible to influence and lingering nightmares. Try to grow up and be the adult in this situation.

Op's kid at 13 theres monsters save me op what have I done
