Today, I had to convince my 3-year-old son that there were monsters in the house just so he would lie in bed and cuddle me. FML

You're a horrible and selfish person.

How can you be so needy for affection that you go to this depth of manipulation...?

wow... imo, that kind of emotional manipulation is dangerously close to child abuse.

Oh OP next time try positive reinforcement rather than terrorizing your child to show you affection. Maybe try mentioning after some cuddles getting ice cream or going to the park if the weather permits it. Think about how you would feel as a kid being scared out of you mind of your bed just so your mom could cuddle you. Play with him a little while to tire him out and then snuggle on the couch while watching tv. Those are some ideas you can try next time you want some affection.

So lets bribe the child. That could go down a bad road. How would that go in court if something bad happened because he was bribed for affection?

It'll really just teach the kid how to get what it wants. That's how children become spoiled little brats.

This is a kid we're talking about, not a dog.

Munchilds syndrome by proxy is in your poor child's future.......get help right now.

What is WRONG with you? Most people would do anything to get their three-year-old to sleep in their OWN bed instead of with them. And you stoop to this level of manipulation because you're craving human comfort and companionship? Don't you have a boyfriend/husband/friends/other family? Just...ugh! No wonder kids grow up crazy these days.
