Today, I had to go through the embarrassment and pain of telling my parents I was pregnant. I took the test and it came out positive and I was freaking out. I got grounded for the rest of the year and they're really disappointed in me. Five minutes ago, I got my period. FML

Today, after much deliberation, I decided to accept my parents' invitation to a family dinner. A half hour after I arrived, all hell broke loose, because my mom's pregnancy test had come back positive, and she was convinced my dad had poked holes in his own condom. FML

You can still spot during pregnancy. Its pretty common during the first trimester. You should probably call your doctor ASAP to get checked. Plus never trust the BC pill. I got preggo on it...so have several of my friends. and for those who say ooo you werent taking it right, ask the dr about how smoking and drinking DECREASES the effectiveness :(. * no this was NEVER mentioned* OP: your parents were probably just shocked about what was happening. Depending on your age...I was 16 when I had my son, and my parents did the same. Until the shock was over then they were alot more supportive. Good luck and please go to the dr!

Hopefully the OP went to see a doctor before reading all these replies, lol. In the 4-8 weeks in pregnancy, you may experience a short bleeding period that kinda seems like a period. It's not an official one, though still... who just has them grounded from that? (seems kinda minor, imo ._.)

As has been said many times already - if you're pregnant, it's not your period. If it's your period, you're not pregnant. A period isn't just blood, it's tissues that the fetus would need to survive.
