Today, I had to go through the embarrassment and pain of telling my parents I was pregnant. I took the test and it came out positive and I was freaking out. I got grounded for the rest of the year and they're really disappointed in me. Five minutes ago, I got my period. FML

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_trimester_bleeding Sorry bleeding may be happening even if you are pregnant.

You can be pregnant and still get your period. I have three kids, and had my period for the first few months with both of them. Did you not use a condom or birth control?

There's no such thing as a false positive. You should get to a doctor!

Polycystic ovarian syndrome can cause both missing/late periods and false positives on pregnancy tests (even repeatedly) so you definately need to go a gynocologist. And, yes, you can bleed while pregnant

YDI for being irresponsible and having sex when you're still young enough to get grounded for it. Just be grateful you're not pregnant after all.

Its only 95% accurate if she doesn't have a natural hormonal imbalance- in that case, tests can always read positive, even if she is a virgin/has had a hysterectomy

Yes, you can still be pregnant. Best bet is to get a sonogram. You can get one for free at some pregnancy centers, or they'll refer you. In the worst case scenario, if your parents kick you out, they can find housing for you. Most of the time, though, the folks come around. Miscarriages more common than you think, and it won't impair your ability to carry a baby to term when you're ready. Best wishes

You can still have your period and be pregnant. Please read up on your facts.

I'm calling bullshit 1.) She's on the computer submitting this. I thought she was grounded? 2.) She can just tell her mom she had her period and get ungrounded. You're not preggo, how is this an FML?

1.) She probably sneaked on this site while she was doing homework or was at the library. 2.) Her parents would still know that she's having sex.

1) Maybe she's on her own computer; some teens do have them, you know. 2) I agree it's a sigh of relief IF she's not pregnant and doesn't want to be. So imho not an FML, but trust me, it's an awful feeling when you realize your parents know you're a sexually active giel. Does anyone ever catch themselves being the one to get someone's douchey comment buried by clicking "thumbs down"? I clicked thumbs down twice on 186 just to see if I could catch myself pushing that twatwaffle's comment into burial. Didn't see it get buried, but felt better anyway.
