Today, I had to hand write a 10 page essay for one of my classes. When I turned it in I got an automatic zero. It was written in blue. Not black. FML

If you're at university/college check your unit outline (if you have one), if it doesn't specify that you need to use black pen, bring it to the attention of your teacher. If you're in highschool and your teacher didn't say that you needed to write in black pen, ask if you can resubmit it written in black. Good luck :)

Well on the argument of his running out of ink, the printer tells you. You go and buy some more. Have back ups. And always carry black pens. If it was required you need to learn to read. Your teacher also sounds pissy.

I do feel bad for you, but unless your teacher is a COMPLETE JERK they probably did insist you use black ink several times and failed you for not heeding multiple warnings... If you can't recall any such warnings I'd advise you challenge the grade or at least ask to be permitted to resubmit it...

You probably had to write it in MLA or APA. Black ink is just a given :/ It does suck that your efforts were completely wasted, but YDI.

You're kidding, right? An academic document should always be written in black. If blue is allowed why not green and orange and hot pink too? It's a no-brainer.

Do you have any idea how much easier black ink is to read than a bright pink pen? There are yellow pens, too. Yellow is the bitchiest thing to read, but if it's allowed and it's the closest pen... Black is easy to read, it's easy on the eyes. I don't even take notes in colors besides black most of the time.

Almost all academic documents should be typed and not hand-written. Typing is neater and clearer to read. It gets rid of those who have bad handwriting.
