Maybe he asked this on Halloween and was asking his friend about the time zone difference. Also, since the Gregorian calendar was developed in the Northern Hemisphere and the seasons are opposite in the Southern, it seems logical that the calendar there should be shifted by six months, so January is a cold month and July is a hot one. Of course, they could be idiots. In which case, we still need bodies to flip our burgers.
Like you never said anything dumb as a teenager. This is not a true FML.
Yesterday my 10 year old brother asked me if London is near England... Do they not teach geography in schools anymore!?
Obviously not.
All these negative views off of one unprivileged teen they may not have gotten the best education available doesn't mean that all others are the same. Look at some adults these days that are homeless and can't find jobs. It goes both ways people. Some adults are not stand up citizens either.
Who says the teen was unprivileged? Unfortunately, American education is hit or miss. Some areas have really good schools and some areas schools suck, no matter how much money the community has. I grew up in a poor area of New York that still have a better educational system (at least in high school) than some of the suburbs I live near today.

Also the kid could be referencing the weather difference in Australia just in a really stupid way.

To answer the teenagers question: No, we have a special month called Kangaroocember, where we all celebrate Australia by finding kangaroos and riding in their pouches. ...OF COURSE it's November in Australia. Just like the rest of the world. >.<
... I can only hope that the boy was trying to refer to the weather difference, and not the actual month, because otherwise this is just another crushing blow to my faith in humanity.
