The way I understand it, it's a "pig shortage." The droughts this year caused the crops to fail which means no food for the pigs. The farmers just don't have enough to feed them. So they're mass culling them because feed it too expensive.

I'm aware it's a pig shortage. I was making silly jokes that apparently did not work. All you hear is bacon shortages. We get more than just bacon from them but nothing else was mentioned.
