But the point is, they are both still Jake. Just two sides of the same coin. If it was someone with DID, then there wouldbe Jake, Ben, Vlad, Mary, etc. Depends on how many personalities there are. The OP's bf (hopefully ex) is an idiot. Period.

Schizophrenia doesn't involve multiple personalities. Disassociative identity disorder (DID) is the proper disorder.

If you live anywhere else, the manual commonly used is the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (or ICD). In the ICD, the diagnosis is Multiple Personality Disorder. Both are correct.
