But the point is, they are both still Jake. Just two sides of the same coin. If it was someone with DID, then there wouldbe Jake, Ben, Vlad, Mary, etc. Depends on how many personalities there are. The OP's bf (hopefully ex) is an idiot. Period.

please inform your boyfriend he's a ******* idiot. the mental disorder he should be referring to is dissociative identity disorder (formerly multiple personalities d/o). bipolar disorder is characterized by having manic and depressive episodes of the mood, it has nothing to do with the personality. inform him, then dump him.

OK so everyone take a deep breathe. We get it, bi-polar is not multiple personality disorder technically. But you know what I dated a bi-polar girl and it sure as hell seemed to me she had multiple personalities. There was sweet nice calm kate and then there was bat shit crazy kate! So yes the bf is a cheating asshole, but at least he has funny excuses.!
