Some people just don't care. He shouldn't have pushed you, he's a jerk. I live in the DMV metropolitan area and I see things like this all the time at the metro station. At some point, some homeless guy tried to grab my messenger bag out of my hand as he was exiting the train. He also pushed some guy on his way out. Some people are just assholes. This is why I avoid public transportation.
wow what an asshole
Just because one guy shoved you into a door doesn't mean other guys won't be gentlemen. Not that they should be. Let go of this chivalry thing. Instead of chivalry it should be common courtesy for your fellow man and woman.
Agreed. people in here are turning the chivalry thing into a sexist argument, and I have to say each person involved with those arguments are completely missing the point.
Exactly. OP will probably also turn lesbian after one bad break up because "all guys are heartless jerks".
Chivalry isn't dead. This guy is just a jerk. There are a lot of jerks out there, male or female.
It only seems like chivalry is dead because you don't notice the everyday good people.
^ This. People are typically chaotic good or at least neutral. There aren't many lawful evil alignments in the world. But you certainly notice them when they're around.
Except on the Internet, everyone is chaotic evil here.
I saw chaotic good and thought, "that's my DnD character!" I'm such a big nerd haha. Now I want to know if you were making a DnD treferenxe, or if I'm really that crazy.
treferenxe? Don't even ask me how I did that, because I honestly don't know.
I was definitely making a DnD treferenxe. :)
I'm putting you on my profile as my buddy. I
You're probably ugly. Chivalry is only given to hot babes, and only to ugly ones when in the presence of hot ones that may witness the act of kindness.
Sorry, perdix. I do it got everyone! Kind of like an oddball social experiment. It's interesting, the results.
Chivalry, along with humor is apparently dead.
In my opinion, chivalry is silly-- but kindness towards others (not just men being chivalrous towards women) is not. That said, that guy sounds like a real dick.
Seriously? Why the down-vote? I just think everyone should be courteous to each other no matter what their gender, age, etc. Men being chivalrous towards women is nice, but I think it should be the other way around as well.
I think chivalry in it's more medieval context is great if you're married. I expect my husband to open doors for me occasionally. Not every time, but sometimes as a sweet gesture. But everyone should be courteous regardless of gender. I'm a 21 year old woman and I hold the door open for old ladies, other 20something men, moms with strollers, etc.

I woulda just kicked him in the back of the head with my good leg if I were you.
