Today, I'm left with two non-refundable tickets to Jamaica, because my now ex-boyfriend said his Quidditch tournament is more important than seeing my "fat ass in a bikini". FML

for the fear of flying (name) i recommend xanex - i usually pop one right before i go through security so it starts to kick in right around take off if im feeling apprehensive about the flight . smooth sailing from there. hopefully you will have more fun with out him. could be a blessing in disguise as its probably a good time for you to get away and have a good time. no drama, just beautiful beaches and tropical waters!

The problem with that idea is that Xanax is a controlled substance that can only be legally obtained with a prescription. Of course, some doctors are fine with prescribing a 1-2 day one time fill of it, but that's rare. OP's best bet is to look in to some homeopathic stress relievers. I know that some companies make a chamomile supplement that promotes relaxation.

maybe others have had different experiences, but i´ve never had any trouble getting a few days supply from my doctor. i just explain the situation and he has no problem writing a script for a very small number of pills. but i agree that homeopathic can be a good way to go if you can find something that works for you, as it can be less trouble to acquire. it´s kind of funny because i actually love to fly. i can never get enought of the view out the window whether watching the clouds drift by or the ground far below. it's just the takeoffs that i find extremely unsettling.

Since airline tickets are purchased in your name and you have to show id to get past security, it may not be so simple to just take someone with her. Some airlines are good about stuff like that. Some will only transfer the ticket to another date in the same person's name. Travel insurance is inexpensive and worth it. I've had to cancel trips due to illness or emergencies before and it has saved my ass. The other times I was with airlines who I knew would give me credit for a future flight.
