You should have bought some pet eaze. There are sedatives you can get for your pets. Look for a store near by where you are and find some. Good luck. And eventually they'll calm down.

Cats and cars don't mix :(

I had a cat who literally emptied herself of EVERY bodily fluid about 20 minutes into a car ride. Then she would scream the rest of the way. Inconvenient if you move a lot. What I did to solve this was Go To A Vet Before The Trip and get some Kitty Sedatives. She still freaked out and excreted everything (put paper towels in the carrier before, take them out after and replace with a towel when there's nothing left to come out) but then she would calm way, way down and she and we did not have to put up with a cat freaking out for hours.

Pretty much every cat gets stressed in car rides unless you take them out often when they are kittens. My older cat pisses herself in fear when we have to take her somewhere, so we just put her in the kennel. But my younger one, who I took with us everywhere at a young age, just sleeps under the chair and only comes out to use the litter box or say hello.

A fellow Washingtonian! Lol. I moved from home to Indy with a dog so I feel your pain. Not quite as extreme but still... Lol.
