Today, I met a really cute guy at work. He asked for my number, and I wrote it down on a piece of paper. After looking at the paper, he crumpled it up, yelled "Do you think I'm stupid? I know the rejection hotline when I see it", and walked away. It was my real phone number. FML

Today, I spoke to my crush for the first time, and after a while he asked for my number. Ecstatic, I took the first piece of paper I saw out of my purse. I wrote it down and gave it to him, but he handed it back and said, "You might need this." It was an appointment card for my therapist. FML

Question... not to be annoying, i just really want to know.... If HE asked for HER number, then why would he "pretend that he thought it was the rejection hotline because he probably didn't want her number anyway"? It makes no sense. If he really didn't like her... he wouldn't have asked?

like others have said. its hilarious that he knows the rejection hotline when he sees it. even if your number wasnt its probably really similar. i mean i think ive gotten rejected more than most guys. but even i dont know the rejection hotline when i see it. lmao. fyl tho.

That's when you say "No, wait, that's my real number". He's obviously been rejected a few times and is cautious. But oh my god there is a rejection hotline? I've never heard of this.
