Definitely not your fault. Hell, how are you supposed to know she was blind unless it's painfully obvious? As for everyone saying he was a jerk or an ass...the guy was his friend. If a friend saying something like that is so horribly offensive to you, you must not have many friends.

Agreed 100%. Unless the OP saw her with a cane, sunglasses and a dog, he/she couldn't have known. I also agree with you on the joke. Seriously guys, he's/she's not being an ass (or he/she didn't mean to be.) My friends and I jokingly insult each other sometimes, too.
