Anyone else want to know what he does that's so bad?
Meh, it doesn't have to be anything epic, there are just some people who treat you so incredibly disrespectfully that you will always remember them. Bark at you, never respond to anything nice you say, act pissy if the system takes too long for them, absolutely lose their shit whenever you have to tell them no due to things out of your control.
Man, I don't understand people saying "maybe you'll be able to get on if you're nice enough!" No. Someone who is consistantly an arsehole to someone in customer service, then can't restrain from being nasty at dinner with them is not going to come around. Good luck with that one, op. :/
he dislikes confrontation. easy enough to agitate someone like that to act childish. you win.
Wow, that's ridiculous. And childish. I feel bad for OP and the boyfriend's whole family for having to put up with him. If he honestly thinks you're that horrible at your job, all he needs to do is avoid your register/area while you're working. No need to ask for your service just to be a jerk, and certainly no need to bring it up in a completely unrelated setting. He should take the time to get to know you as a person. I know some of the cashiers at my grocery store pretty well, and a few of them are really nice people but horrible cashiers. I've never felt the need to go through their registers and be an asshole to them... I usually just go through a different line and say hi on the way out. That way I don't get frustrated with them, they don't get made to feel bad, and we can be friendly instead of hating each other. Everyone wins. I just wish more people had this attitude instead of the father's attitude...
That was your chance to cuss him out and leave.
Call him out for being an asshole
