good on him... veal is baby cows, kept alone in tiny stalls in the dark, away from their mothers, then slaughtered by being hung upside down by their back legs over a conveyer belt, being anally electrocuted, then having their throats cut, usually while still fully conscious because the shocks aren't strong enough.

It is possible OP wasn't even aware of how badly veal is treated. I mean, it's hardly something that the butchers going to tell you when you buy it. She might not be very clever (probably true seeing as she picked up a bloke at the mall) The man's a nutjob though, getting that upset. Fine, if its his view, but don't inflict it on everyone else!!

You should have found out if he was a vegetarian before you mentioned veal. But seriosly he shouldn't get so pissed off because everybody has different views about food and he can't make everybody in the world share his views

People act like veal is worse than regular beef becuase it comes from calfs and not cows. Stupid double standard.

#31... it's natural for humans to eat meat, but it's NOT natural that we've made an institution out of it. other animals must hunt for their food, while we slaughter animals that have been specially raised for it in giant factories. do you see animals like sharks, tigers, etc. raising and slaughtering their pray by the thousands per minute? didn't think so...

#30, it's not a case of "vaginatitis" as you so maturely put, it's about being empathetic and feeling BAD for animals that have to go through that just so we can have a nice tasty meal. With all our modern advances we should be able to find a nutritous and ethical substitue for meat. But, it's not about that at all. It's about us constantly letting everything around us know we're in charge..and the taste of it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not in PETA and I don't support PETA (they're a buncha loonys most of the time) but I don't belive in torturing animals for food, fur or entertainment. And any of you who think the animals you eat are killed "humanely" go watch "Meet you meat" on youtube.
