Today, I proposed to my girlfriend. She said, "Can't, bigamy's illegal." I still don't know if she was joking or not, because she keeps changing the subject whenever I mention it. FML

If she's joking, that's a horrible joke, and a horrible way to turn down a proposal. if she's not joking, there's an even bigger problem.. either way, this is a huge red flag.

Major Life Rule: Fool me once, shame on them. Fool me twice, shame on you, because you should have seen it coming the second time. Trust people until they screw you, then at arms length forever after, unless they prove themselves to you. People rarely change unless they perceive the need to... and it has to come from inside themselves. Your fortune is: get a new significant other, otherwise half your property and large legal fees are in your future :)
