what?
OP, is there another adult in your life with a brain in their head? Seek the assistance of that person. Barring that, get your butt to the guidance counselor of your current school and tell that person what is going on. Your mom is a selfish ass who just doesn't want you to go but if you get into a school like this you CANNOT piss away this opportunity because your own parent doesn't want what's best for you. I was in a similar situation when I was in high school and went straight to the guidance counselor. She and the principal of my school embarrassed my parents into letting me accept a scholarship they had been pressuring me to turn down for their own selfish reasons. Your mom is only thinking of herself, not you, but once she realizes other adults are on to her selfishness, she might change her tune.
Wow, 83. You have piss poor reading comprehension skills. I won the scholarship, not the OP. My point was that my assfuck mom tried to make me pass it up but I got smart and enlisted the aid of other adults who actually had my best interest at heart so I encourage the OP to do the same. Pay attention.
Pattipan did not make it about their self, but rather used a personal anecdote as an example of asinine parenting "rationale" and the solution they came to in order to rise above parental selfishness/stupidity. If OPs mother wants to hinder their child's wonderful opportunity for financial reasons, there are ways around it. If OPs mother wants to hinder the opportunity for selfish reasons, there are ways around it. Unfortunately, stupid is quite incurable, luckily for OP it is not always hereditary. OP - by whatever (legal) means necessary, do not pass this up. Find a way, and make everything you can of it.
Thank you, Haven74, for having intelligence. You are in the minority. One of the biggest lessons that kids can learn in life is that their parents aren't always right and they don't always have to have control. I figured this out and was able to out-maneuver them so that I could accept my scholarship and go to my dream college so I wanted to tell the OP (and others) what worked for me and how I did it. I honestly didn't think it was that hard to understand but apparently I was mistaken.
I hope you told her to **** off.
There are parents who seriously can't afford to send their kids to college, or don't even want to deal with it at all. This is the time to step it up OP. Talk to your mom or go find a job; do whatever it takes. Juilliard isn't just any community college, not everyone gets in. This only depends on you and how bad you want it.
Robin Williams is also a very intelligent man. Congrats. Go anyway :)
You are grown enough to go yourself and congratulations!

Wow...Just wow. Go anyway :)
Your mother is retarded. Go anyways. And congrats!
