Today, I started my job selling perfume in a department store. I decided to be creative and sprayed a little perfume towards the first person who walked by. She had an allergic reaction, and an ambulance had to be called. FML

I someone sprayed perfume in my face I'd be like wtf.

I would be seriously annoyed if someone sprayed me with perfume without asking me, allergy or not. Asshole move. You should ask people beforehand, OP, YDI

"Today, I was trying to buy some clothing, but some random bitch of a salesperson decided to spray me with perfume. I'm allergic. She almost killed me. FML"

I hate it when people do something that harms another person and they write F MY life.

Use common sense, if you don't know if people are allergic to something, its best to not do it.

Yeah I'd be kinda pissed if someone randomly sprayed perfume on me. It's a creative idea in theory, but everyone has different things that they like. Also if I'm already wearing perfume, I don't want some other funky mixing with mine :P

How the **** was that creative? It's practically a cliche.

Always ask if your job involves interaction with the customer. You're representing the company, and you'll want to show that the company is respectful of everyone

That's why you always ask first. I certainly hope they fired you, because if that's your idea of "creative," you're going to get your employers sued.

I really hope you were fired. Your employer could be sued because of your stupidity.

Yep, it was dumb and rude. But a person with a perfume allergy walking through the perfume department...that's really stupid.

she may not be allergic to the perfume, but an ingredient in it. and a lot of stores have perfume places around the entrance. your comment is like asking if someone is allergic to peanuts, why would they walk through the condiment aisle? cause they need some things else besides it. duh.

So a person with perfume allergies shouldn't go shopping...? I am not allergic to perfume per se, but am super sensitive to artificial fragrances. Being exposed to the wrong one or too much of one can give me a horrific migraine. I would be really mad if someone sprayed me without asking! Not to mention that I'm also allergic to the ingredients of perfume, so some perfumes give me hives when they touch my skin. And if that all sounds crazy - welcome to the world of autoimmune disorders. Where there are no rules and your white blood cells are in charge.

It really isn't stupid. Often times you have to walk through the perfume department to get to another department since it is the only way to get there.

I certainly do hope that 'you' don't open up your own business in retail that deals with perfume and people, #46. Some department stores are stupid enough to put the fragrance department 'right next to the door.' (Macy's, for example.)

Allergic or not, I wouldn't like to get sprayed by a stranger while walking through a store. If you were handing out free food/drink samples would you get creative by throwing full cups at the first person who walked by? You tried, OP, but YDI.

I wouldn't want someone spraying perfume in my face
