Today, I switched from pads to tampons. It took me several botched attempts trying insert one before I succeeded, and now I feel like I've just raped myself. FML

Why do people use tampons? I've always used pads and never had a problem. And they are super easy to change every time you go to the bathroom.

Pads always make me feel like I'm wearing a diaper or something, and you can't swim in them. But it's really a personal choice. Anyway, you pad people and we tampon people need to stick together against the menstrual cup users. Those freaks....

Well to each their own, but I personally prefer tampons because I don't feel them as much, and I have had experiences in the past where pads just didn't work for me. But like I said, that's also just me.

Yeah I agree^ pads feel like nappies/diapers and whenever you sit down you can feel it. First time trying to use tampons took a while, but it's so worth it. You can't they're there and they're easier to use and feel cleaner :)

It gets easier. If you don't like your brand, there are many others to try, with different types of applicators. They range from no applicators (like OB), to cardboard, to smooth plastic. Over time, you will learn your preference and it won't be a big deal at all. :)

As a mime I can tell you that 'self-rape' is NOT funny. Sometimes I find myself in terror and anxiety over whether or not my abuser will return! But all I have to go on is this crusty rag I use after cleaning myself off... But god, do I sleep like a baby!

Just relax, try propping a leg up on the bathtub or something, and remember that your vaginal canal is angled, not straight up.
