Today, I took a shower and right after I fell asleep on my bed wrapped in my towel. I awoke to find my dad slapping me in the face. He thought I had fainted because I'm a diabetic. FML

What's wrong with that? He was concerned.

fyl? why? he cares about you and knows what to do... what if in reverse you fainted and he thought: ah just napping

Next time tell him to get lost - make sure you throw a screaming hissy fit over it and accuse him of just wanting to see you naked... Make it all about the drama... Then when you really are having a diabetic episode he'll be so worried about being wrong that he'll just leave you alone to lapse into a coma and get brain damage or die... Then he can come post an fml on your behalf.... Or you can just grow up and be glad he cares enough to do the right thing even if you are a whiny baby about it.

That's a minor inconvenience, if these are your problems in life you're living a pretty good life.

to all those saying "wah wah wah, at least daddy cares" this is NOT some minor issue. type I diabetes sucks. op could lose her eyesight, her kidneys, her heart function, even her limbs. there's probably more going on behind this fml. op probably knows all about the dangers here, and that, not getting rudely awakened, is the real story.

Yes, diabetes has shitty complications, but that's really not the issue. The FML is about her being treated differently than other people because of the diabetes. Or at least that's my interpretation.

fml? so if you were to have fainted, you would not want to your father to help revive you? damn suicidal thoughts!

Yeah, that would be kind of awkward in a towel. Did you tell your dad slapping you in the face probably isn't going to work if you passed out due to a low?
