By Les Miserables is so sad - 02/01/2013 23:38 - Canada - Saint Albert

Today, I took my girlfriend to go see Les Misérables. I tried to stay tough but completely lost it and started sobbing when Anne Hathaway began singing. My girlfriend called me a wimp and stayed dry-eyed throughout the whole movie. I'm dating a robot. FML

Wow. You better never try to watch Marley and Me.

Sobbing is a bit much. Maybe a tear or two would have been okay.

Time for you to find a new girlfriend. There's nothing wrong with showing your emotions, regardless of gender. I'm a woman and I find it as a turn on, oddly enough.

I hate guys like you. Like ok it's nice when you cry for important things but a movie? I mean it's kind of embarrassing and causes a scene unless its quiet. And PEOPLE it's not about guys crying, did you mistake him saying "I'm dating a robot" he thinks that because she didn't cry over a movie. YDI

Calling her a robot was a bit harsh, but there is nothing wrong with crying during a movie. Just because you don't get emotionally attached to characters in a movie doesn't mean other people don't, and that's ok. Also if you're embarrassed by crying or someone else crying then you've got your own issues to work out. No one should care that much about what other people think. Also it doesn't make a scene, most people don't even notice because they're watching the movie. Unless someone sobs unnaturally loud it wouldn't make a scene

I really don't see how people can't get teary eyed in Les Miserable. Both my fiance and I were crying in a few parts throughout the movie, it's so sad and depressing but amazingly well done.

Haha your girlfriend has more balls than you

Hey I saw that movie, I never cry at movies and I cried not a bad this to have emotions

Ah, the good ol' "You gave up your man card because you showed emotions!" This is kind of the point of challenging gender stereotypes. No worries OP - I would accept you crying at a movie in a heartbeat. I love men who aren't afraid to be themselves and have the balls to cry.
