Aww, you should be thankful! He's just trying to cure your joint pain! Unless, of course, you were referring to the poppet, a tool of European witchcraft. The poppet was used to harm people. The 'voodoo dolls' come from African cures for pain - one puts pegs into holes in the doll at the point where they hurt. This was misinterpreted by European explorers. [/folklore nerd]
