Today, I walked into my boss's office to ask for a raise, and walked out unemployed. FML

Well if you felt you weren't getting paid what you deserved, then this might have been a good thing. Just gotta find a new job and work even harder at it :D

Were you fired for asking or was he gonna fire you anyway? Anyway, I wish you good luck in finding a respectable job that'll pay you well!

So sorry that's awful. Good luck with your new job search :/

when you receive ur new pay check of a higher amount, send a picture of it to ur ex boss..

This is identical to a scene in Arthur millers death of a salesman, which I was studying for an exam last week!

Don't bite off more than you can chew?

It's hard to say if it's YDI or FML because unless you give us some kind of explanation in a follow up, either of you could have instigated something. I'll tentatively vote FML for now just because without money, it's difficult to live.

Well I think that might be conformation that you can do better

Need more info to vote :-/ My former boss was an arse when it came to raises. Four years and the only "raise" came when the government changed wage rates; how well you worked it was irrelevant. I spent hours upon hours for weeks overhauling our online presence because the business needed it urgently and he was too cheap to pay a 3rd party to do it... After that was done I barely managed to score an extra $10/w on top for the work I did and was continuing to do. Bit of a slap in the face but I now earn almost 50% more in another job so w/e.

If you got fired for no reason then you have a right to know. If you know the true reason ( not fired for asking a pay raise) then good luck with your job hunt
