as someone who went from having an iPod touch to an iPhone, I can assure you thy it's easy to tell them apart. iPod touches have a shiny silver finish while old iPhones have a matte silver finish. 3G's are black or white. plus their basic shape is different from the iPod. ipod touches are thinner and wider. iPhones are thicker and not as wide. plus they have the headphone Jack at the top whole iPods hve it at the bottom. Also the silent/loud switch on phones and the speaker at the top of the screen.
i hope you people know theres an app on the itouch where it will go off so you can get out of a conversation you dont want to be in its called FakeCaller look it up:)
exactly i use it all the time at places i dont want to talk to people and I have the iTouch
there is such thing as an iPhone you know
My boyfriend had the new generation which did, indeed, have built in speakers on it.
20 bucks says that his iphone went off and this girl really is that stupid.
ill take that bet cuz you werent smart enough to see that the OP is a MALE from AUSTRAILIA. which is important cuz i work for att and last i knew you cant get the iPhone there. so to all people saying it has to be an iPhone you all could be wrong. and trust me its not that hard to tell the diff between the 2 even from across the room
oh yeah cause its absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to get something thats not available in your country. I ahd an Iphone before they had it available in the netherlands. its called shipping
@107 we've had iPhones in Australia for over a year. We also have them for many different phone companies, so I don't know why you're bleating on about yours. There's variety & market competition. I'm not stuck with one shitty company & one shitty deal.
@107 - you're a tool. Australia totally has iPhones. And even the internet, so we can order stuff from overseas if we want it bad enough. You know, we also have electricity and running water. So you can tell your company, whoever they were, that they need to check their info. Because they are wrong. Or maybe it's just you. Either way.... >>>>>FAIL.
Wow, you can't get iPhones in Australia? I'll have to tell that to all my friends and my husband who have iPhones. I live in Australia, btw. (Just in case you're too thick to notice sarcasm: iPhones are most DEFINITELY available in Australia and have been for AGES.) And to everyone saying "he could have just got one on eBay"... an Australian usually can't buy an iPhone from another country off eBay easily because they're usually locked to the foreign network, so you'd have to get someone else in that country to buy it for you, unlock it from the network, then send it to you. But of course as any Australian knows, you can walk into any phone shop and buy an iPhone... or buy it on eBay from an Australian seller!
it couldve been an iphone 3g....they look almost exactly the same
Coulda used a VOIP software on the iPod Touch, or it coulda been an iPhone. They do look an awful lot alike.

Also, the iPod Touch, when connected to a Wi-Fi signal, can act like a phone with programs like Skype.
Could of had the Skype app on an iPod Touch.
