Today, I was at a restaurant when I heard a young girl telling her father she didn't think she was pretty. When I got up to leave, I walked past her table and told her she was beautiful. Her dad then punched me in the face. FML

How is it fake? The dad could have thought he was hitting on his daughter. @OP: that was still a very sweet thing to do. :)

I would love it if someone did that for me. If someone came up to me randomly and said I was beautiful. That's so sweet! That father was such a jerk for punching you in the face! He obviously doesn't understand genuine friendliness.

@#54 That is awesome. I am picturing one of those white utility vans with no windows... I had a roommate in college that called them "Chester the Molester" vans. (OP, if your name is Chester, please do not be offended by the coincidence : )

Don't feel bad, dude. That was an incredibly sweet thing to do. That punch was quite the overreaction.

so did you press charges or what? the hell is wrong with the dad anyways...

Aw, dude! Good try, total points for being a sweetheart! Pity her dad was such a jerk!

Did you sue that guy for assault? Because you definably should have called the cops on that guy. Also, good for you! That was so sweet.

Aww, that's sweet (what you did, not what the mean man did).

if she was like 12/13 and you're a guy, that's kind of expected. if she was like 6 or 7, that would be cute and the dad's reaction was uncalled for.

wtf? so what if hes like 40 and the girls like 12? assuming he isnt a pedophile, this guy just wanted this girl to feel better about herself. he just told her passing by, its not like he was planning to stalk her or anything. guys cant even say something nice to a girl anymore w/o being accused of something negative.
