Today, I was at a restaurant when I heard a young girl telling her father she didn't think she was pretty. When I got up to leave, I walked past her table and told her she was beautiful. Her dad then punched me in the face. FML

Today, I was eating at a restaurant when a man came up to me and said, "You're pathetic for having lunch with someone that much older than you." My dad immediately got up and punched the man in the face. My fiancé's parents had to walk in the door right as it happened. FML

Today, I went out to eat at a restaurant. When the waitress saw me, she continously told me how beautiful and kind I was. Flattered, I just said thank you. Five minutes later, one of the ugliest girls I've ever seen in my life walked in. The waitress told her the same exact things she told me. FML

(im turning 11 next month) If I was in that situation, I'd be flattered but kinda creeped out unless its some one my dad knows they keep telling me im really pretty :) But if it was a random person then....idk

Aww, it sounds like you are a really nice person. Everyone needs a boost, and if this girl didn't think she was pretty, then she definitely did. You had good intentions, and her father shouldn't have punched you. You didn't do anything wrong, and he's an asshole. I hope you weren't hurt badly.

You obviously had good intentions, but I think I'd be a bit turned off myself if a random stranger came up to my daughter and told her she was beautiful. Regardless, I think the father's action was definitely unwarranted.
