Today, I was at a restaurant when I heard a young girl telling her father she didn't think she was pretty. When I got up to leave, I walked past her table and told her she was beautiful. Her dad then punched me in the face. FML

Today, I was eating at a restaurant when a man came up to me and said, "You're pathetic for having lunch with someone that much older than you." My dad immediately got up and punched the man in the face. My fiancé's parents had to walk in the door right as it happened. FML

Today, I went to a restaurant with a girl I really liked. She started crying when an overweight family walked in and loudly sobbed about how the parents were "murdering" their children. This made the father of that family try to fight me. FML

Today, I went out to eat at a restaurant. When the waitress saw me, she continously told me how beautiful and kind I was. Flattered, I just said thank you. Five minutes later, one of the ugliest girls I've ever seen in my life walked in. The waitress told her the same exact things she told me. FML

Today, I was eating at a restaurant in town, when a small boy started looking at me. I simply smiled and went back to eating, only to hear out of the corner of my ear, "Daddy, why does that kid's face look like that"? He said it so loud, the three tables next to us turned and looked. FML

ya you have to be careful these days... yesterday I was on a store, and a 16 year old girl was trying on a dress for her prom. the salespeople were doing their usual thing trying to flatter her into buying it. one of the older salesmen said "you make me wish I was 16 again"...it was kind of perverted

YDI, i'm not suprised i would think it was pretty wierd and creepy if some random guy came up to me and my young hypoythetical daughter and randomly said she was beautiful. Plus you were listening in on their conversation so that would also appear creepy to the father. The whole thing would just seem rather pedophilic coming from a man to a young child.

well people are assuming it's a guy because i'm pretty sure the dad wouldn't punch a woman. so dude that's creepy as hell. i'm 20 and if this happened to me i'd be creeped out because it at least meant he was eavesdropping. but since you said young girl i'm thinking preteen and that's very creepy. in this day and age i don't see why anyone is surprised that the father reacted strongly. i'm going to have to go with YDI.
