Today, I was at a restaurant when I heard a young girl telling her father she didn't think she was pretty. When I got up to leave, I walked past her table and told her she was beautiful. Her dad then punched me in the face. FML

Today, I was eating at a restaurant when a man came up to me and said, "You're pathetic for having lunch with someone that much older than you." My dad immediately got up and punched the man in the face. My fiancé's parents had to walk in the door right as it happened. FML

Today, I went out to eat at a restaurant. When the waitress saw me, she continously told me how beautiful and kind I was. Flattered, I just said thank you. Five minutes later, one of the ugliest girls I've ever seen in my life walked in. The waitress told her the same exact things she told me. FML

Today, I was eating at a restaurant in town, when a small boy started looking at me. I simply smiled and went back to eating, only to hear out of the corner of my ear, "Daddy, why does that kid's face look like that"? He said it so loud, the three tables next to us turned and looked. FML

@#36 If the father punched a girl in the face, then he would have been a HUGE asshole. I'm assuming that he wouldn't punch a girl/woman in the face out in public. Not that I think anyone should be punched in the face; that sucks, OP. I feel bad for the little girl =[

Lawsuits are your friend. People who think he deserved it for getting involved in "other people's business" or say there's a "time and place" for this ought to consider that there's also an appropriate response for that, and punching the person in the face is not it.

Assuming the OP is a dude, you may have deserved it depending on how old the girl was. Listening in on peoples' conversations and making comments about the appearance of underage girls comes across as creepy at best. You probably meant well, but you have to think about how you'll come across to someone who doesn't know you.

Ok, ok.. How is saying that someone is beautiful automatically hitting on them? I have a niece and I tell her she's beautiful and in no way am I hitting on her.
