Although a lot of people have said that there isn't co-ed competitive swimming, that's not exactly accurate. My summer team does co-ed relay's because there often just isn't enough people in the same age group etc. Anyway that really sucks lol, I've never had my string hang out and I would be so embarrassed if it did!
I'm a swimmer too for my school team, and that's the one thing that always stresses me out. But it's particulary awkward when you aren't anchor, and the person behind you gets to see your tampon string. Ew.
Yeah I swim too, some seasons go longer, depends on the team. Some swim coed: depends on how many people are on the team. I'm a guy, don't worry about it, I don't think a guy would really pay much attention to your string- it's not like you started bleeding. And I swam a relay my frosh year and this one girl got DQed for diving into the wrong lane. Don't feel bad. You didn't deserve it.
A real swimmer would have swam anyway. ...^ And how do you unintentionally dive into the wrong lane? I mean..really?
1. If you were ready to dive that means you should have been following them in which means you wouldn't be paying attention to your tampon. 2. If you're a girl you wouldn't be swimming in a relay with a guy.
YDI...real swimmers don't swim co-ed relays unless they are for fun, which clearly you weren't doing cuz of the whole "tampon stress" I swam an 800 free with a see through ass cuz i didn't realize it until i stood on the blocks, grow up and get over yourself. I hope you got kicked off the relay for good. A real swim coach wouldn't put up with that crap and would rip you a new one.
Tuck it in?
Wow...I would think your team wouldn't hate on you so much, maybe they will understand and say next time we will get it! That is the team spirit isn't it ? LoL I wouldn't really know though since I haven't been on any sport stuff with a team. :P But I hope they will understand...I mean its pretty sad.

#1 I'm glad your life goal is now complete. OP: You deserve it. Sorry, but if you're going to put yourself in any kind of high pressure situation with others counting on you like that, you gotta get over little things like tampon strings.
LOL. #1 your a jerk. anyway, that sucks, but if your a girl, how did you fall on top of a guy? girls and guys dont swim relays together. anyway its not like you could do anything about it right before you dove off, so it woulda just been easier to swim the whole thing and tuck it back in when you finished and were still in the water. its not that big of a deal i mean everyone knows girls have to wear tampons when they swim.
