i think everyone needs to read what the OP said carefully...he said that he "decided to work with no weights and work my way up from there". that means he started @ 45lbs. and added weights on. then he "wound up pinned", meaning he eventually got to a point where he couldn't lift anymore. mm k everyone? that'll clear it up =]
#117: it only says that he "decided" to add more weights as he progressed, not that he actually went through with it before he got stuck. it could really be interpreted both ways.
i agree with #6 =]
dont worry i was there too when i started workin out. and y'all haters should know that pecs can get fatigued doing a couple of reps and being a beginner he could have been unable to bring the bar up after doing a number of reps with the bar. I began workin out a year ago and went from 10 rep max from simply bar to 155 lbs at body weight 145 lbs. Still working my way up.
You should always be using a spotter. Always.

you dont deserve that bc it is my assumption that 98% of the population can lift a 45 lb barbell. 7-12 yr olds included. Spotter next time homeboy. Always when trying new exercises and eat that protein mix after workouts. Sounds like you need to gain some weight and muscle
Don't be so pathetic next time.
