Today, I was at the gym with my friends when they invited me to do a few bench presses. Since I'd never done any before, I decided to start with no weights on the bar and work my way up from there. I wound up pinned beneath the bar, calling for my friend to come free me. FML

you dont deserve that bc it is my assumption that 98% of the population can lift a 45 lb barbell. 7-12 yr olds included. Spotter next time homeboy. Always when trying new exercises and eat that protein mix after workouts. Sounds like you need to gain some weight and muscle

ummm....FAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!! i went to the gym with my 100lbs gf and she is weak. i mean weak as hell and yet she can do at least 3 reps with the bar. you must be like in elementary school

Alright, to all you people out there calling this guy "pathetic" and "fail" or bragging about how much you could bench yourself, that's just being really weak yourself. I'm sorry, but it's true. Jeez.

Guys maybe he is a freshman in high school or something!

I'm feeling sketchy about this one being real or not. That sounds TOO much like something out of a movie.

I agree with the person who says this person needs support. He ******* KNOWS he's weak; that's why he posted about it here, and nothing in his post suggests that he got pinned under an unloaded bar. Quite possibly he was trying to figure out how much he could lift by gradually adding weight, which is good--he just didn't have a spotter, and maybe he didn't realize what "gradual" means. Keep going to the gym, man, just be careful, learn how to lift weights RIGHT, and keep your ego in check. The other people in the room don't matter.

dude that thing weighs like 20 pounds. are you telling me you cant lift 20 pounds?

#114 standard bars weigh 45 pounds, but that's still insanely pathetic, and possibly a lie
