Today, I was at the park playing Frisbee with my friends, when I saw a boy sitting on a bench looking rather sad. "Hey!" I yelled, and he looked up at me. I lightly threw the Frisbee in his direction, and it hit him in the face. He was blind. FML

He should have had cane on sun glasses on

Elfkid21 19

yeah, because it is SSOO uncommon to wear sun glasses while at the park

I take it the "I'm blind" 3d goggle looking shades aren't the universal sign of a blind person?

@33 @67 No. A. Dark glasses in a park, not uncommon. B. Not all blind people are completely blind, and he may have functional, yet limited, vision. In this case, the blacked out glasses (or sleep shades) would have been detrimental to his safety and health. C. They make foldable and telescopically retracting canes. When I get to somewhere where I'll be sitting for a long time, I typically fold mine up, and a little kid would likely put his in his backpack.

Common mistake OP. apologize and explain to him the situation. I'm sure he will understand.

Aye, loads of people hit blind people in the coupon with frisbees. It's happening everywhere.

That is seriously heart breaking.

That sucks OP, but next time, try yelling "look out". Just so you can avoid accidents like these. You seem like a nice person and I'm sure the kid appreciated the effort.

CharresBarkrey 15

Seriously? Yell "look out" to a blind kid?

monnanon 13

op didnt know the kid was blind. and blind people do not care if you say the words look or see to them.

Sorry to hear that OP! Don't feel bad, there was no way you could have known!

Just like everyone else has already stated, you didn't know. I will commend you for trying though most people wouldn't care enough to put effort into a situation like this. *applause*

You could not know (I agree with the other comments), not your fault, just FYL and an FML for the poor blind boy. Why people click on YDI on this one ??
