Well, you obviously deserved that one. The cop was just doing his job--you rear end someone, it's your fault because you were not the proper distance away from the car in front of you. By law, you SHOULD get a ticket--so good for the cop, kudos for him, negative kudos for you. Easy as this--learn to drive.

it's pretty much always your fault if your rear end someone. the reasoning is, you were following too close for safety, which is right. If you were following at a reasonable distance and paying attention, you wouldn't have hit her.

#177 - Eh, I don't know where you get the big city rush hour traffic where you get to drive at 30 mph. When I'm in traffic, it's usually 10-15 mph, so in that case you can drive about half a car away from the one in front of you without much trouble, just have to watch for the brake lights to come on and be ready to react. If I'm driving at 30... I have no trouble keeping distance, considering there's no traffic to be bothered with in that case, so the only situation when I'd be forced to slow down is if someone cuts me off... which in turn they don't need to do when there's enough distance between me and the car in front of me to stick 3 cars in there... and as such, it shows that the person in question isn't the safest driver there is. True, I've had someone try and cut me off while driving with 10 mph, but hey... idiots abound, and you need to be ready for that too. In this case though, the OP deserved it anyway, because the conditions were different... highway and if the person in front of him/her hit the brakes to slow down and avoid getting a speeding ticket, that means they were driving over 55 mph, so there wasn't traffic involved there either and the OP could have safely kept a reasonable distance to avoid tailgating. All in all, I guess you couldn't come up with a reasonable argument, so you had to insult others. Next time, take an extra moment or two to think about what you're saying.

******* woman drivers (99%). they suck. anyone who i almost hit or almost hit me was either a woman, asian, black, or spic. put woman in front of those and the driving gets worse and worse. truth hurts but damn there's a ******* thing called a directional, steering wheel, brake, and accelerator, so put down the phone and lip gloss and drive.

*funny but all studies done on driving have shown that most accidents are caused by men, even when they aren't involved in the accident themselves. And statistically, males are more than 5 times likely to have an accident each time they get into a car than a female- why men usually pay twice as much for insurance as women.

Seriously, if cops are not giving-out B.S. tickets, or not doing what our tax pays them to do - they are just real @$$h*le$. No wonder they always have a bad reputation. The should really wise-up and stick with what they're taught and not be little b*----- to the ones who give them their salaries.
