It sucks that she slammed on her brakes, but its the law that even if someone in front of you does something like that, you have to be far enough behind that person in order to stop in time. Its your fault for not being far enough away.
shittt that sucks. PS. #142 WTF?? hows that relevant
by definition, it is tailgating if you don't have enough time to stop if the person in front of you slams his brakes or you could just be a shitty driver, I have no sympathy for shitty drivers either way, YDI
#109 is clearly a dumb bitch who probably gets in accidents all the time because shes just jammin to Taylor Swift. for those of you not willing to scroll up and see what I'm referencing it goes along the lines of: I wouldn't pay for that shit. Get a lawyer. Hun, that would never hold up in court. Then again, I guess that's why they don't let 14 year olds into law school.
Okay, it clearly says the woman panics. You can be a safe distance away and still hit someone if they VERY SUDDENLY HIT THEIR BREAKS. Most people arent expecting the person in front of them to suddenly slow down that much. It doesn't mean they were tailgating, and it doesn't even mean they were speeding. People panic. Sometimes that means they were going maybe no more than 5 over, and that OH NOES ITS A COP means they have to go 10 under. It happens. It also says on the highway... so going a fast speed, someone panics, slows down, its really hard to slow down that fast on the highway. The faster the speed, the quicker you catch up to that car. If you stay 2 seconds behind a car, doesn't that mean it takes 2 seconds to hit them if they slow down suddenly? Not much time to realize what's going on and stop. Either way, not tailgating, and the person in front deserves to pay instead.
Pay more attention then it was totally your fault you should of had your following distance people slam on there breaks randomly all the time

Thats the technical definition of tailgating. If you're so close to the other car that in a situation in which the car in front of you suddenly breaks, and you rear end the car in front of you, that would be tailgating. Really, what do you think tailgating is if its not exactly the situation you're in now?
I cant stand people who slam on their brakes whenever they see a cop. Especially when the dudes on the other side of the highway
