Today, I was driving to work when a state trooper rammed into my car from behind, because he was on the cell phone and not paying attention. He gave me a ticket for "Failure to control speed to avoid a crash." FML

Today, I was driving when I noticed that the guy in front was on the phone. I pulled up next to him, pulled out my phone and I made a gesture that he needed to put his phone away. It was a cop. I got a ticket for driving while on my cell phone. FML

Today, while I was driving, a police officer jumped out from the sidewalk and into my lane. I slammed on the brakes so I wouldn't hit him. He then gave me a ticket for "obstructing traffic." FML

Today, I saw a car swerving in front of me on the freeway, so I whipped out my cell to report the DUI. As soon as it started ringing, I see police lights in my rear view and got slapped with a ticket for using a cell phone while driving. After explaining why, the officer said, "Nice try." FML

Today, I lost control of my vehicle while driving. The car went off the road, rolled over, and ended up being totaled. The policeman asked me if I was alright and I said I was. He seemed relieved at my answer. Then he handed me a $300 ticket for failing to maintain my lane. FML

Complain to the police. Yes it was a copper who gave you the ticket but that doesn't mean all cops are bad. If they don't do anything about it, see a lawyer. This is just crap. Take photos of the car to prove someone ran into it from the back - that'll show you were not the one at fault.

complaining to the police is theoretically a good idea but it shouldn't be done because it often leads to harrassment, she should just straight up challenge it and take it to court.

By all means sue. Pray he doesn't try to cover up his tracks. Your case will hinge upon the dash-cam video and his cell phone records. It'll cost you a bit, but you have a good shot at winning.
